Why You Need Camping Insurance   no comments

Don’t you just love the thrill and the independence of packing up your gear and heading off camping somewhere? It is an exhilarating way to spend a free weekend and one of the finest types of break from work in my opinion.

I normally get home from work on a Friday, pack my stuff, grab a bite to eat and head off as quickly as I can. I’ve even been known to leave in such a rush that I have to go back home again in order to pick up my map, my flask or something else I have forgotten. However, one thing I never forget is to sort out some camping insurance whenever I need it whether I’m on a camping holiday in Lake Garda or the Lake District.

Travel with Peace of Mind

We all worry about things to one degree or another, although most of the people reading this probably aren’t born worriers like me. I just hate having something preying on my mind, and travelling anywhere without insurance is one of my big fears. Apart from that, I can also recommend double and triple checking your oven before you leave home. I once spent an entire weekend in the Lake District worried that I had forgotten to turn it off after making lasagne. Luckily I had switched it off and it turned out to be delicious.

Don’t Lose Out

If you need to cancel your trip or your equipment gets lost or damaged you won’t need to foot a big bill if you are properly insured. Camping gear is relatively expensive but if you look after yours and have a decent insurance policy then you won’t need to splash out on new items for a long time. Unless you are like me that is. I can’t walk past one of these outdoor stores without popping in and admiring their selection of rucksacks, waterproof trousers and cutlery sets. I don’t actually need any of this stuff but just looking at it gets me in the mood for travelling somewhere and having some fun. I sometimes look at the faces of other people in the shop and I think I can safely say that I am not the only person who gets some sort of bizarre pleasure from spending my lunch hours doing this when I don’t actually have anything to buy.

Avoid Problems

Since I have never really had problems when I have gone camping it is hard to discuss this from personal experience. However, I am thinking about being stranded far from home after being robbed or needing expensive medical attention in a foreign country. These aren’t going to be pleasant situations whether you are insured or not but at least the insurance cover will make sure that you can sort things out a little easier. If all you really want is to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing break then sort out your insurance before you go away and you know that anything which could happen to you has a solution. As long as you didn’t leave a lasagne in the oven without switching it off, that is.
